Celebrating my 60th birthday in Rome, May 2001

Who am I

I'm an elderly Swedish gentleman, living in Copenhagen, Denmark. My Danish husband and I travel a great deal and from our travels I will choose some accounts to publish.
I have myself always felt the need of a place to partake of the travel experiences of others, their successes and mistakes. A place where I can read about people and places, roads and accomodation, food and drink, tour operators and expenses, from personal points of view.

Why am I here?

I would like to share my experiences of travelling in different parts of the world. Admittedly in a manner which grants the comforts my friend and I both appreciate, but all the same: the countries, the people, the landscapes and the wild-life are the same. And we think it is important to let our travel take its time.
My tales are not objective, they are completely my own, perhaps biased, but mine.
In any case, I hope you'll manage to find something here to enjoy or use, preferably both.

East Africa

In January and February 1998 my friend and I travelled for 7 weeks in East Africa, from Entebbe in Uganda, through northern Tanzania to Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean.

Costa Rica

In February and March 1997 we travelled for 4 weeks in Costa Rica.
This image of San Jos, erected for the festival for the capital's patron saint, will take you there.

Indonesia

Selamat datang di Indonesia! Welcome to Indonesia
and our 4-week tour from Jakarta across Java to Bali overland in August-September 1999.

Ecuador and Galápagos islands

In January and February 2001 we travelled for a month in Ecuador. We spent a week in the Amazon region, a week birdwatching in the Andes north and east of Quito and two weeks cruising in the Galapagos archipelago.

Vietnam 2006

In March 2006 we travelled in Vietnam, from south to north. We started in Ho Chi Minh City and went on to Phu Quoc Island and Can Tho in the Mekong Delta, to Hoi An and Hue, and on to Hanoi, Sa Pa and Halong Bay.

Hurtigruten, the world's most beautiful sea-journey, May - June 2006

The coastal seaway along Norway, from Bergen to Kirkenes on the Russian border, is one of the most beautiful journeys possible. Starting in Bergen 29th May and returning to Bergen 9th June, we had 11 days of stunning views, exciting excursions, excellent food and a comfortable cabin with a real window on the MS Nordkapp.
